You’ll explore the culture and terrifying history of the Chagga Tribe (they built those caves for a reason) and you’ll take a short but delightful hike in the lush green landscape to a sparkling waterfall but, don’t worry, you won’t run out of energy because you’ll visit a coffee plantation and have the chance to roast and make your own coffee. The buzz you’ll get from our packed-so-full-it-hurts Marangu day trip won’t just be the caffeine.
If you are on a cultural tour, you would be excited watching to the traditional blacksmiths, visiting nearby caves, waterfalls, coffee plantation areas etc, and the experience of the life style of the local Chagga tribe would mesmerize you.
The waterfalls are situated to the foothills of the Kilimanjaro. The source of the water comes directly from the glacier on top of Kilimanjaro. Passing through, green areas where also grow the most fantastic trees and exotic plants. About 40 minute drive from Moshi town, from which you have a very nice view on Mt. Kilimanjaro, located in the beautiful country side of Marangu surrounded by lush landscapes, you will find this hidden waterfall.
After your breakfast around 9am our driver guide will pick you from your hotel and drive to Marangu waterfall known as ndoro waterfalls. Ndoro Waterfall is one of the most popular and largest waterfalls in the area. A one hour hike, descending through the stunning green landscapes of Chagga land will bring you to this huge waterfall, here you will have the opportunity to you can stand underneath the waterfall, even jump off one and go swimming in the refreshing water and have a well-deserved break for lunch in the beautiful valley. The word “Marangu” means a place with too many water streams.
This is one of the most popular places in Tanzania. This is beautiful, and a relatively simple walk through the tropical rain forest that grows on the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro. You can see different types of monkeys (black and white colobus monkeys), tropical birds and other animals.
